Science
INTENT
Science at Osbaldwick equips children with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand the world around them through scientific investigation and reviewing evidence. We follow our staff-agreed principles which are that all lessons should be:
- Hands-on
- Student-led
- Full of questions
- Engaging
- Active
- Taken into a real-life setting
- Linked to topic (when possible).
Science is taught weekly in an engaging, hands-on way so that children are inspired to find out things for themselves by working scientifically either through investigation or using technology to research. Children are given regular opportunities to apply their knowledge to wider concepts in order to demonstrate their deeper level understanding. Most importantly, science is fun!
