Leyes footpath reconstruction

Please note that City of York Council are undertaking the repair and  replacement of the footpaths along the length of the Leyes. This is scheduled to begin next week starting 5th October.

Mr Thompson – our sites and facilities manager – has an agreement that they will not carry out any works on the length of footpath extending along the entire front of our school building between:

08:45 to 09:30, 11:45-13:15 & 14:45-15:30

This is to ensure there is no inconvenience to parents or pupils. CYC have also committed to installing a temporary pedestrian crossing spanning the Leyes to assist safer crossing for the duration of the works.

Should you experience any difficulties with access or egress from the school site, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 01904 555606.

For the duration of the roadworks and the limited car parking on the road we will continue to allow parents to access the car park. Please can I ask parents to slow down when exiting the car park at both the start and end of the day. Slow down, edge out and remain vigilant for parents and very small children. Remember some small children run on ahead of their parents. As a driver near a school you should expect this – remain cautious at all times. Both Mr Thompson and myself will be patrolling next week to monitor. To keep our children safe in and out of school is a shared responsibility.
