Dear parents and Carers,
Apologies that you have not received the key dates for this half term until now. In line with Trust and National guidance the news we are receiving reflects the rule of 6 inside and the rule of 30 outside. Therefore, with this in mind, some of the summer events will go ahead without parents present. This is disappointing for pupils, parents and staff however we have to work within the guidance.
Move up day
Your child will have an opportunity to meet their new teacher and newly formed class on the morning of Wednesday 7th July. In anticipation of this day you will receive a letter with details of this on Monday 5th July. We cannot provide you with details of who is in the new class due to GDPR requirements. Rest assured we have completed a first draft of the new classes and all teachers and the senior leadership team have eyes on this. Our aspirations are for pupils to feel safe, have friends and we alleviate any anxieties over summer. For Reception pupils we have a number of transition events to ensure pupils are familiar with The Lane site and their new setting.
Sports Day will be on Thursday 8th July and without parents due to covid restrictions. Your child can wear their PE kit on this day.
Pupil reports go out on Thursday 8th July. You may wish to follow this up with a conversation with your child’s teacher on the playground or by appointment. Information will be supplied within the report.
Teacher Training Day
For your information the training day will be on Friday 9th July and the school will be closed to pupils on this day.
Year 6 events
All events planned will be communicated to parents separately. We will do our utmost to ensure there is a Year 6 leavers event for parents at the end of term. All communication for Year 6s will be via Mr Hind.
We will get a separate letter to you about the arrangements.
Have a lovely weekend.
