Newsletter 16.7.21

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Good afternoon – we are almost at the end of term! Whilst pupils and staff are tiring the learning continues reflected by the smiling faces in classrooms. We certainly feed off that positivity. Thank you for your lovely comments at the end of the term – so many of you have taken the time to tell staff we have done our best in difficult circumstances and that praise certainly is much appreciated. The forecast looks good – enjoy the weekend.

Fruit Kebabs

We received a very generous donation from Natalie, at Tesco Clifton Moor.  Tesco gave a huge box filled with a variety of fruit and the children were extremely delighted to make these.

England Colouring Competition

Following the disappointment of England losing the Euro’s, we have some good news.  Stanley Hewitson in 2HM has won the colouring competition to commemorate the England Football Team reaching the final of Euro 2020.  Well done Stanley.

Y6 Performance

The Year 6 children have had great fun recording and performing their production. To say it was amazing was an understatement – a huge thank you to all the Y6s and teaching team for making this happen. we managed to safely ensure one class at a time saw the practises and I was very honoured to see the final performance full of energy. It was lovely to see smiling faces and confidence – we are so  proud of our Y6s. We are saving some highlights for a special outdoor leavers assembly to parents next week. Make sure you get your ticket – please message Mr Hind or Mr Robinson via seesaw.

As we almost finish the year we have some staff to say goodbye to and send our heartfelt thanks. Mr Hind is leaving for a promotion to Haxby Road Primary Academy. He has been a brilliant lead of our upper phase and Y6 classroom teacher. Mrs Dhindsa has been a great addition to our teaching team this year. She moves to London and will be teaching in a new school from September. Miss Jones – teaching assistant – is moving on developing her career in Education – we are proud to say we have been part of that journey as she has also been a super recruit. Finally we wish Mr Scoreby all the very best. He leaves us on Monday having braved all weathers as our sports coach and provided every child in school with a positive outlook for taking part and enjoying sessions. We wish them all the best for the future..
