‘Bling your Bike!’ Friday 19th January

This Friday we are holding our Bling your Bike event which we had to cancel before Christmas.

Please feel free to decorate your bike or scooter or ‘fancy up your feet’

The Be Bright and Be Seen high visibility is really important. Illuminate your saddle, wheels, tubes or your bars, especially during these dark winter mornings.  Even if you and your child can’t cycle or scoot to school, you can join in the fun by decorating your feet brightly.

The best, most garlanded and original-looking bikes, scooters and feet will win a fantasticTravel2School goody bag. Winners will be announced in assembly during the school day.

We are also asking as many pupils as possible to walk, cycle or scoot to school. Every pupil who completes all or at least the last 5 minutes of their journey by foot, bike or scooter will count towards their class total.  The class with the highest number of children who travel actively to get to school on 19th January will be announced in assembly.

Please remember:

This is open to the whole school. Please follow the school’s advice on helmet wearing (we do recommend helmets are worn). Your child does not have to come on a decorated bike or scooter, or with decorated footwear, but if they do please make sure they are safe to cycle/scoot and walk around school.  They may wish to have a pair of school shoes to change into.

In adverse weather conditions please take care on your journey into school. You may need to walk and push your bike in icy or snowy conditions so leave enough time for your journey.

No rules – just let your imagination go mad on the theme. Please ensure your child does the decorating themselves as much as possible!

If you have any queries, see your Travel2School Champions (School Council – supported by Mrs Ross & Mrs Bryan-Smith) – Good Luck!
