Dear Parents/Carers,
As we come to the end of a busy and productive eight week half term, we have lots to celebrate. Children have settled into their new classes and made a great start to this half term. It was lovely to see so many Parents and Carers at our Parents evening meetings this week. We wish you all a safe and happy half term holiday and look forward to welcoming children back on Tuesday 5th November (Monday 4th November is a training day).
Exciting News
We have some exciting news to share. Firstly Mrs Messruther Assistant Head/Early Years Lead is expecting a baby and will go on maternity leave shortly after the Christmas Holidays. We will contact the Reception parents after half term with a plan for staffing whilst Mrs Messruther is on leave.
In addition Miss Onyett is getting married in the half term holidays and will return as Mrs Cannon. 1MO will become 1MC. Wishing you happiness on your big day and in the future Miss Onyett.
Miss Kay – Marathon Superhero
Miss Kay ran the York Marathon on Sunday 20th October to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Charity. A massive well done to Miss Kay. You smashed it in spite of the wind and rain!
Harvest Donations
A big thank you to all those who kindly donated to our Harvest Collection. Again this year we are donating to the York Food Bank.
Well done to our Y1 and Y2 children who performed in their Harvest Festival recently. It was also a pleasure to share a Harvest Festival Celebration in EYFS. Thank you parents for coming and supporting us.
Amazing Art Work
Year 3 and 4 have been studying the artist Frida Kahlo. They used their sketch pads to explore collage and then produced a final piece using mixed media. It was lovely to show off to parents all the work in our gallery at parents evening.
School Council
After class votes we now have assembled our School Council. We are looking forward to hearing their ideas in meetings scheduled after half term.
Nursery Fun
We are delighted with how our Nursery children have settled in this half term.
Wellbeing in Mind – Newsletter
A huge thank you to our Well Being In Mind Team who attended our parents evening and promoted well being. They have appointed Well being Ambassadors. There are some very excited children in school who had to submit an application and were specially chosen. Well done to all.
