Covid-19 Reporting Arrangements over Christmas

Dear Parent/Carer

Covid-19 Reporting Arrangements over Christmas

We are almost at the end of term and the end of an extraordinary calendar year. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to some relaxation and hopefully this is the final guidance we
will have to issue until 2021.

  • If your child tests positive for Covid-19 at any time between the end of term (after Friday, 18 December) until 5pm on Wednesday, 23 December, please email your school to report it as it may be necessary to inform other families that their child, if they are a contact, will need to spend time self-isolating.
  • The email address you should use is m.brown@ebor.academy
  • We ask that you do not contact your school with any positive reports after 5pm on Wednesday 23 December until the first day of the new term.

If your child starts to develop symptoms of Covid-19, they are eligible for a test which can be arranged via http://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119. Symptoms are a new persistent cough, a high temperature, or a change to their sense of taste or smell.  Remember, children should not come to school with symptoms and should remain at home for at least ten days from when their symptoms appeared.

We adhere to all government guidance in respect of preventative measures to suppress the virus and our risk assessment, which is reviewed regularly, is available on our website.

We hope you manage to find some peace and joy this Christmas. Please stay safe and look after each other and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Gail Brown
Chief Executive and Executive Headteacher
