Well Done to Ada Jobling for raising £6300 for charity and completing the Lions International Young Leaders Service Award

The Lions organise The Great Selby Bike Ride, and for the past two years, Ada has been a proud participant! She cycled 25 miles in her first year and tackled a challenging 45-mile route this year. Through her dedication and the local community donating, Ada has raised over £6,300 for local charities! These include:

St. Leonards Hospice
Martin House Hospice
British Heart Foundation
Macmillan Nurses

Following this huge achievement Ada has been awarded the The Lions International Young Leaders in Service Bronze Award – a huge well done to Ada

The Lions International Young Leaders in Service Award is a program that recognizes young people between the ages of 8 and 18 for their commitment to community service. It aims to encourage young people to develop a lifelong habit of helping others.

Lions International are a giant team of super-helpers around the world, all wanting to make things better! It’s a big group of grown-ups who get together to help people in their communities. Their motto is “We Serve,” which means they focus on doing good deeds. Most towns have a branch called a Lions Club, which has members who volunteer their time and energy to help others.

To celebrate their hard work, the volunteer marshals who helped during the ride met on Friday. Ada even joined them for the event! She had the honour of presenting large cheques to each charity, representing the amazing amount of money raised. The celebration wouldn’t be complete without cake, of course! The volunteers enjoyed a delicious cake decorated with a picture of Ada and her bike.
