Dear Parents and Carers,

We close this half term feeling incredibly proud of the progress made by every child. Their exceptional hard work and positive engagement in the classroom have been evident daily. A heartfelt thank you to our parents and carers for your continued partnership and encouragement — it makes a real difference. Now is the time for our children to enjoy a well-deserved break. Wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable time away from school!

What have been learning in class?

Thank you to parents for using our see-saw app. Seesaw gives you an opportunity to see your child’s learning on a daily basis.  I have included some photographs from a range of classes which gives you an insight into children’s learning across the curriculum in all age groups.

Below Reception learn about pets, how to look after them and get a chance to meet Mrs Bryan-Smith’s dog Maple who is also a therapy dog.

Award-winning author and illustrator Nick Sharratt hosted a live draw-along online. He shared how he develops his characters and showed how to draw them for yourself.

Church Tapestry Complete

The year 5s, after visiting St Thomas’ Church in Osbaldwick, have been given the exciting opportunity to participate in a community project. We have been working on a piece for a giant tapestry which will hang in St Thomas’ Church. Our section focuses on the history of Osbaldwick school and the importance it plays in the community. The children worked really hard using a variety of fabrics and materials to showcase their interpretation of our school and its values.

latest update is that the tapestry is complete and the children and staff were very excited to see it fitting together amongst other community contributions

PE Kit in School

As we head into the next half term, please a quick note regarding our PE kit. To ensure the children can fully participate safely and comfortably in all activities, we kindly request that pupils adhere strictly to the school’s specified PE uniform: Top plain white, round neck t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms / black shorts, leggings. Footwear: black plimsolls or trainers. Specifically, this means no football shirts should be worn as part of the PE kit.  Thank you for checking your child’s kit bag over the break!
