At Osbaldwick Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on being a multicultural school and use this as a learning opportunity for the children. Through our curriculum we discover different countries and cultures which help to prepare children for their life in a global community. We aim to engage and inspire children to have a love of learning about the world.
At Osbaldwick Primary Academy we teach French. In Early Years and Key Stage 1, French is introduced through songs and games to foster enjoyment in learning the language. They also begin phonics which prepares them for reading in French later on. In Key Stage 2, French is taught in key areas: speaking and pronunciation, listening, reading and writing and finally grammar. Children develop their knowledge and linguistic skills and post onto their journal to showcase their learning to a wider audience.
