Intent
We want each child to know that they are part of nature and that it is a part of them, feeling no sense of separation from it. Extensive interactions with a nature-rich outdoor environment and building relationships with locality and community cultivate the roots of a sense of place – being at home in the outdoors. Participating in the living and physical world nourishes wonder and joy in being alive in the world, growing the appreciation, gratitude and optimism that underpin happiness, meaning and purpose throughout life.
