At Osbaldwick Primary Academy, our uniform encourages children to have a sense of belonging and pride in their school. We are mindful of cost and sustainability and environmental issues. We are happy, therefore, that only the sweatshirt and cardigan are branded items from the school supplier, keeping costs to a minimum. All other items of uniform can be purchased at low cost from a variety of shops.

We also have a variety of pre-worn uniform items available in school. Pre-worn uniform stalls will be held regularly throughout the school year or by contacting Mrs Bryan Smith via the school office. We are always grateful for donations of good quality pre-worn uniforms to add to our collection.

Our school uniform is as follows:

Everyday Uniform

To make uniform as cost effective as possible, most items can be purchased in reasonably priced supermarkets

  • Trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafores in grey or black
  • Polo shirts – white, navy or pale blue – these do not have to be branded
  • Summer dresses in blue, yellow or green gingham check
  • Black shoes – trainers are not permitted with everyday uniform.

PE Uniform

  • A plain white, round neck t shirt
  • Black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
  • Black plimsolls or trainers

On their timetabled days, children wear their PE kit to school for the full day. Parents will be notified of PE days by the class teacher. In cooler weather, children are to wear their usual school sweatshirt or cardigan with their PE kit. Non-uniform hoodies or sweatshirts are not permitted.

Book Bags

We ask that children in Early Years (Nursery and Reception) and Years 1 and 2 have a school branded book bag to transport their reading books to and from school daily.

Back Packs

Children may wish to bring a backpack to school if needed. If this is the case they should be of a sensible size that can be hung on a peg easily.
